Dogs, Horses & Ferrets: Service or Support?

In today’s world, it’s hard to go to a restaurant, store or any public place without seeing a Service Animal. With so many active military, retired veterans along with disabled persons that need the assistance of a service animal, their popularity has grown tremendously in the past few years. But do you ever feel people abuse this right? Are those really service animals? And what about emotional support animals?

In your real estate business, if you work with commercial properties or residential units, you MUST know the laws to stay compliant. If you haven’t run into the situation where tenants are looking to rent a house with a no pet policy or you have a buyer looking to purchase a condo in an association with a no pet policy and they have a service animal, then you will soon enough. In this session, we will cover what a Service Animal is, what accommodations are required for them, what an Emotional Support Animal is, and the difference between them.
