Leslie Appleton‐Young is an economist, consultant, speaker and former SVP and Chief Economist for the California Association of REALTORS®. In that role she oversaw analysis of housing market and brokerage industry trends, broker relations, and membership development activities. She served on the California State Controller’s Council of Economic Advisors, was recognized as a Woman of Influence by Housing Wire in 2017, and in 2021 was inducted into the RisMedia Real Estate Newsmakers Hall of Fame. Leslie is also cofounder of WomanUp!®, the national initiative to support woman in brokerage. She earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and her master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
